Squire Patton Boggs has advised CSL, the leading European provider of critical IoT connectivity, on its strategic acquisition of Caburn Telecom, a global provider of secure IoT connectivity, SIM management and software.
The acquisition follows the investment in CSL by private equity firm ECI Partners two years ago, a deal which involved Squire Patton Boggs advising ECI Partners. The acquisition will add further IoT expertise and scale to CSL’s market-leading propositions and solutions serving a wide range of sectors internationally.
Founded in 2011, Caburn is a team of experienced global IoT professionals, committed to delivering IoT connectivity solutions with the highest levels of service to customers for whom flexible and resilient IoT connectivity and control are essential. Caburn has over one million live IoT connections across a variety of sectors, with customers in the UK, Europe, USA and Asia. Caburn is complementary to CSL’s IoT growth and further broadens the value CSL can offer in critical IoT connectivity applications.
Corporate partners Charles Leeming and Julian Ciecierski-Burns led the team advising CSL, which included Mary Brock and James Pascoe, with tax advice provided by partner Mark Simpson.
