A team in Madrid has advised a syndicate of Spanish and international banks and financial institutions on the consensual restructuring plan and related debt rescheduling arrangements of Grupo Alimentario Copese and its affiliates. Grupo Copese is a leading food production company that develops and manufactures sausages, pork meat and cured Iberian products. They offer their customers and clients quality products, with a focus on innovation and strict quality standards.
The transaction involved a debt restructuring proceeding and the granting of new credit lines. The team was led by Madrid office Financial Services partner Manuel Mingot, legal director José Luis Iriarte and associate David Calleja. This mandate, along with other creditor representations in 2022 and 2023, highlights the firm as a ‘go to’ law firm for debt restructuring expertise in the sector both in Spain and globally under the new Spanish Insolvency Act.
