Squire Patton Boggs has advised a European group of investors, including Oakley Capital and Tesonet, on the acquisition of a 100% interest in the Webcentral business by purchasing the remaining 1/3 stake held by ASX listed 5G Networks Limited. The transaction exchanged on 28 May 2024 and is expected to complete in June 2024.
The Sydney based corporate team previously advised on the initial investment in the Webcentral business from 5GN which completed in December 2023. The transaction team was led by Michael Gajic, Louisa Hine and Georgia Mateer.
Webcentral, is a domain name registry, consumer hosting and email hosting services business, which offers an extensive portfolio of digital services to small and medium businesses and enterprises across Australia and New Zealand.
Oakley Capital and its co-investors will look to apply their extensive experience with hosting companies across Europe to help Webcentral unlock opportunities in the international hosting market, including through a merger of the Webcentral business with World Host Group.
