Squire Patton Boggs has advised Copilot Capital, a new private equity sponsor created to support high growth European software companies, on its majority investment in cybersecurity training firm SecureFlag. This is the second acquisition in quick succession for Copilot, following its acquisition of Danish company Relesys, a transaction that was also advised on by Squire Patton Boggs.
The team advising Copilot Capital consisted of partners Paul Mann and Julian Thatcher, senior associate Andrew Slucky and associates Victoria James and Milena Bohn. Patrick Ford, a partner in Squire Patton Boggs’ tax team, provided tax structuring advice to Copilot for the transaction.
SecureFlag is a UK-based software company focusing on providing secure coding training for developers and engineers involved in software development, and its offering includes an AI-powered threat modelling product, Threat Canvas, which provides real-world scenarios for secure coding.
Copilot Capital will support SecureFlag in the next stage of its growth journey, with the aim of establishing it globally in the secure training space.
