Squire Patton Boggs has hired leading German private equity and corporate lawyer Robert Bastian as a partner in its global Corporate Practice Group in Frankfurt. Mr. Bastian was previously the head of Dentons’ private equity practice in Germany.
Mr. Bastian will join the growing private equity team in Germany led by Frankfurt based partner Norman Wasse who joined the firm together with senior associate Dr. Marion von Grönheim in 2023.

Mr. Bastian focuses on private equity as well as general corporate law and mergers and acquisitions. His extensive private equity practice involves working with German and US funds on a variety of domestic and cross-border transactions. Mr. Bastian’s corporate clients include major German and European companies in sectors as diverse as technology, energy, engineering and cosmetics. In addition, he advises on capital markets matters, including public takeovers, IPOs and de-listings.
Mr. Bastian served as partner and head of Private Equity at Dentons from 2013. He has worked at two major German law firms since qualifying and is a graduate of the University of Mannheim (2000).
