Jonathan T. Brohard is a partner in the Real Estate Practice with extensive legal and practical experience handling acquisitions, sales, financing, development, operations and management, institutional debt and equity, private equity, joint ventures and syndications, corporate governance, public reporting and regulatory compliance for real estate industry clients.

Before joining the firm, Mr. Brohard was chief operating officer and general counsel at a real estate investment and specialty finance company where he oversaw all real estate lending and corporate transactions.

  • Representing a public-reporting company to oversee all real estate lending and transactions, securities compliance and reporting (10K, 10Q, 8K), human resources, preferred equity reporting and litigation management.
  • Successfully closed the acquisition, financing and disposition of various real estate holdings across asset classes including hospitality, multifamily, solar development, water resources, industrial warehouse and office properties in Arizona, California, New Mexico, Texas, Missouri, Minnesota, Georgia and Utah.

  • Representing specialty real estate company in successfully leading the defense of a US$6 million enforcement action by a New Mexico municipality.
  • Representing a specialty real estate company in acquiring a luxury resort in Sedona, Arizona through the deed-in-lieu foreclosure.
  • Obtained discretionary entitlements for various real estate classes, appearing before local governmental officials in Arizona, California and New Mexico.
  • Representing a national real estate trust established to acquire and lease portfolios of single-family homes.
  • Representing a national apartment developer in the acquisition and financing of multi-family communities in Arizona, California, Utah and Washington.
  • Representing an American Stock Exchange traded company in a hostile proxy dispute for control of a health care REIT.
