Robert Devling is an associate in the Litigation Practice Group.

While earning his J.D. from the Washington University School of Law, Robert was a member of the Public Service Advisory Board, a legal fellow at the Fund for American Studies, and editor of the Washington University Journal of Law & Policy.

Robert has worked in the law in various capacities, including as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Eric L. Clay of the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, a legal intern at the Office of the Federal Public Defender in the Southern District of Illinois and an intern for the US Supreme Court.

  • Serving as project counsel for contractor of a US$3 billion infrastructure project.
  • Securing judgment from the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit affirming the dismissal of claims against a foreign governmental organization for lack of personal jurisdiction.
  • Representing foreign financial institution against claims arising under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
  • Represented various legal services providers as amici curiae in Castaneda v. Perry, No. 22-7365 (4th Cir.).
