Lucy Donnelly is a senior associate in our Labour & Employment team and is based in our Manchester office.

Lucy advises national and international employers in a variety of sectors on both contentious and non-contentious employment law matters. Lucy provides commercial and client-focused advice to support her clients to achieve their desired outcomes while considering legal risks.

Lucy provides advice to clients on all employee relations and HR issues, including disciplinary and grievances, managing sickness absence and capability issues. Lucy also regularly supports clients with senior exits and settlement agreements, large-scale redundancies and TUPE transfers.

Lucy has considerable litigation experience, having successfully represented clients in their defence of unfair dismissal, discrimination and whistleblowing claims.

Lucy has also been recognised as a key lawyer in legal directories based on feedback from clients.

  • Regularly advising clients on a variety of HR and employment law issues, including sickness, conduct and capability matters.
  • Advising and assisting clients in their defence of complex and high-value discrimination, unfair dismissal and whistleblowing Employment Tribunal claims.
  • Drafting and reviewing a wide range of employment documentation, including contracts of employment, service agreements, consultancy agreements and staff handbooks.
  • Advising clients on business reorganisations, individual and collective redundancies, TUPE transfers and changes to terms and conditions of employment.
  • Managing and assisting with the provision of international advice for a wide range of clients on a variety of issues and projects.
  • Supporting clients with senior/sensitive exits, including conducting settlement discussions and negotiating the terms of settlement agreements.
  • Acting as litigation manager for a plc business to support them in relation to all of their Employment Tribunal claims.
  • Providing bespoke training sessions and webinars to clients on all aspects of employment law.
