Ruslan Galkanov is a senior advisor in the International Dispute Resolution Practice. He handles high-profile investor-state and commercial disputes and litigations in the construction, telecommunication, petrochemical, oil, gas and mining sectors.

He has multifarious professional experience, having worked as the legal officer and head of transit and energy security in an international organisation, as well as working as counsel with another international law firm. His experience also includes serving as a member of the core drafting team for the modernisation process of the Energy Charter Treaty. Ruslan worked as in-house counsel at a major international oil company and contributed to a research project on international arbitration. At the onset of his career, he also co-led a comprehensive project that culminated in the establishment of operations in Turkmenistan of two of the world’s largest international soft drink and food companies. Ruslan has also served as a team member of two legislative groups established to draft the new Civil Code and the Law on Hydrocarbon Resources of Turkmenistan.

Ruslan is qualified to be admitted to practice law in Turkmenistan.
