Chris Hastings is a debt finance partner in our Financial Services Practice.

Chris advises mid-market private equity houses, corporate borrowers, banks and private credit funds on a broad range of domestic and cross-border debt finance transactions. His principal areas of focus are leveraged buyouts, financing in support of M&A activity, refinancing (ordinary course or event-driven) and distressed or opportunistic debt investments.

Chris works with a wide range of mid-market private credit and private equity clients in relation to their investment activity, as well as supporting their portfolio companies throughout the investment cycle.

Chris’s experience advising corporate borrowers ranges from first-time capital raises for privately owned businesses to billion-pound refinancings and reorganisations for repeat clients.

  • Advising ECI Partners in connection with unitranche and super senior revolving facilities in support of its investments in the Insurance Insider Group and IGG.
  • Advising ECI Partners in relation to a £77 million club loan consisting of term and revolving facilities to support its majority buyout of Croud.
  • Advising Eurazeo in relation to financing to support the buy-and-build strategy of The Compliance Group, a business backed by Ansor LLP.
  • Advising on the refinancing of Aurelius portfolio company FootAsylum, with facilities provided by HSBC.
  • Advising Phoenix Private Equity and its portfolio company Capital Economics on its refinancing by way of senior term debt provided by CORDET.
  • Advising Tresmares in relation to its financing of a private equity investor’s portfolio company in the healthcare sector.
  • Advising the litigation funding business Augusta Ventures, in relation to numerous bespoke financing matters.
  • Advising Carl Zeiss Vision UK in relation to numerous loan transactions.
