Jan Kubicz is a principal in the Litigation Practice, where he handles a wide range of complex and high-stakes matters.

Jan is no stranger to the courtroom; prior to joining the firm, he amassed extensive jury trial and litigation experience, including countless depositions and considerable motion practice at all stages of the legal process. Jan’s experience includes handling criminal matters, civil rights matters and appeals. He has also handled an international dispute involving the Torture Victims Protection Act and the Alien Torts Statute.

While in full-time legal practice, Jan earned a Master of Arts in Global Affairs from Florida International University in Miami. In law school, Jan was a member of the trial team, earning multiple awards and distinctions for outstanding performance in litigation and negotiation competitions. He also completed a judicial internship with Florida Supreme Court Justice the Hon. Barbara Pariente.

  • Representing a Polish financial and payment processing company in a class action alleging an international scheme to defraud investors, resulting in the client’s early dismissal from the lawsuit.
  • Representing clients across diverse industries in connection with document and witness subpoenas, including a Czech bank served with a US subpoena implicating the GDPR and EU data protection laws.
  • Representing a real estate investor and business entrepreneur in a complex dispute with an international alleged business partner, involving allegations of fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, and unjust enrichment.
  • Representing a commercial lender at the trial court and appellate levels in a lawsuit including allegations of aiding and abetting breach of fiduciary duty and civil conspiracy, resulting in successfully obtaining the client’s dismissal from multiple related lawsuits.
  • Extensive experience in the healthcare industry, including:
    • Representing a top US healthcare payor in multiple arbitration and litigation matters involving payment disputes implicating commercial, Medicare, Medicaid and ERISA-governed plans.
    • Representing a top US healthcare payor in disputes brought by providers alleging improper network termination and implicating healthcare fraud, waste, and abuse issues.
    • Defending complex claims brought by members of health insurance plans against the plans and alleging the wrongful denial of benefits.
    • Handling complex litigation involving allegations of tortious interference, breach of a non-disclosure agreement, and breach of a non-compete provision contained in a medical doctor’s employment agreement
  • Representing the manufacturer of animal supplement products in a complex litigation involving claims of false advertising under the Lanham Act and state consumer protection laws.
  • Representing a prominent medical device manufacturer in high-volume, fast-paced multidistrict litigation.
  • Participating in a white collar and corporate investigation involving an international energy sector company and implicating Foreign Corrupt Policies Act and internal fraud issues.
