Juan Manuel Ramírez Aldana is a member of the Corporate Practice Group, based in our Madrid office. He advises private companies on a wide range of regulatory matters across different sectors, including electricity, gas and telecommunications.

He has broad experience in the preparation of due diligence reports in transactions across a variety of industries (including energy, telecommunications, transport and health), analysing regulatory and environmental issues, as well as other public law matters such as administrative contracts, concessions and licences.

Juan Manuel also supports clients in administrative proceedings, where he has handled appeals in both general administrative and sanctioning proceedings. He regularly assists national and international energy companies in administrative and contentious-administrative matters, including inspections, sanctioning cases and disputes before the Spanish energy regulator (CNMC).

  • Advised a real estate developer on regulatory strategy before the competent authorities regarding environmental implications of fraudulent groundwater reports in connection with mining activities.
  • Representing a chemicals company in contentious-administrative proceedings concerning national and EU environmental regulation.
