Gabriella Martin specialises in commodities, shipping, international trade and energy. She is based in the London office, but has also worked in Singapore and Hong Kong, and has particular expertise in Asian markets.
Gabriella has an international commercial practice, which covers both disputes and advisory work. She is instructed on all aspects of international trade, from advising on specific contract terms, to drafting and reviewing sale and purchase GTCs, to commencing or defending arbitration or litigation proceedings on behalf of clients.
In the commodities and energy sector, she is regularly instructed on GAFTA, FOSFA, LMAA, LCIA, ICC, SIAC, HKIAC arbitrations and/or English Court proceedings relating to a broad range of commodities, hard and soft, from coal, oil, iron ore, LPG, LNG and manganese ore, to DDGS, soybean meal, oilseeds and corn. She has experience of all types of commodity contracts, from toll crush agreements, take and pay agreements and warehousing agreements, to trade receivable agreements and general GTCS. She regularly delivers training to industry parties on trade association terms.
In the shipping sector, her work includes disputes relating to charterparties, bills of lading, cargo claims, ship arrests and casualties, as well as advisory work.
