Gabriella Martin is a partner in our London office. She specialises in complex commercial disputes in the commodities, energy and shipping sectors.
Gabriella has been named a "Next Generation Partner" in Legal 500 2026 rankings for Commercial Litigation - Mid Market and she has been recommended as a key lawyer for Commodities Disputes and Shipping in Legal 500 2022-2026 editions.

The Commodities team in London has been described as having “Probably the best understanding of commodities disputes in London, which means that they can turn their hand not only to the usual oil, gas, grain, etc., but to any international commodities. Indeed, I have worked with them on disputes concerning anything from grain to gold concentrate to alcohol".

She is regularly instructed in English High Court litigation and arbitration proceedings (including LMAA, LCIA, ICC, GAFTA, FOSFA, SIAC and HKIAC).
In the commodities sector, she advises trading companies, energy companies, banks and insurers on international disputes. She has also extensive experience in advising on a wide range of commodity sale and purchase contracts and offtake agreements. In the shipping sector, her work includes disputes relating to charterparties, bills of lading, cargo claims, ship arrests, ship management agreements, as well as advisory work.
She presents globally on legal issues in the maritime and commodities sectors, as well as providing training at GAFTA training seminars.
Gabriella has an M.A. in Chinese (Mandarin) from the University of Edinburgh with distinction in spoken Chinese.
Gabriella is qualified in England and Wales.
