Dr. Kai Mertens is the managing partner of our Berlin office and heads the corporate practice in Germany. He has more than 15 years of experience in national and cross-border corporate transactions, equity and debt financing. He is one of Berlin’s highly recommended lawyers for corporate/privatization work in the JUVE Handbook of German Corporate and Commercial Law Firms.

Kai's practice encompasses acquisitions, mergers, leveraged buy outs, privatisations, joint ventures, capital restructurings, control- and profit transfer agreements as well as fund restructurings and high profile corporate dispute resolution.

Kai has written several articles in scientific magazines with a focus on mergers and amalgamations, M&A and LBO structures. He is also a visiting lecturer at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.
