James Mosley is an associate in the firm’s Competition – Antitrust Practice based in our London office. James’ practice covers contentious and non-contentious EU and UK competition law matters, including merger control and foreign investment as well as public procurement and UK subsidy control.

James has undertaken secondments at a leading manufacturer of commercial jetliners, defence, space and security systems, as well as at an industrial thread manufacturer. James has also undertaken a secondment at a leading pharmaceutical company.

Prior to joining the firm, James worked at the Competition and Markets Authority.

  • Advising a major global provider of market research services in relation to the competition aspects of its proposed multibillion-dollar acquisition of a competing business across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Advising a private equity-owned UK-based freight-forwarding company in relation to the competition aspects of its acquisition of a Polish competitor.
  • Advising an operator of veterinary clinics on the CCPC’s Phase 1 merger control review of its sale to another operator of veterinary clinics in Ireland.
  • Advising pharmaceutical clients on compliance with EU/UK competition law in relation to the supply of certain drugs.
  • Advising on and securing National Security and Investment Act (NSIA) clearances in relation to numerous transactions (mandatory and voluntary notifications, on both buy side and sell side).
  • Conducting multijurisdictional foreign direct investment (FDI) filing assessments.
  • Advising Studio Retail Group plc on the CMA’s review of the sale of its Findel Education business to YPO (Phase 1 and Phase 2).
  • Assisting WIK-Consult in preparing a study for the European Commission, which provides an overview of the implementation of broadband state aid measures across the EU.
  • Assisting and acting for a global mobile satellite communications company by lobbying regulators in the UK, Austria, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
  • Advising global internet-based services providers in respect of regulatory and telecommunications matters in connection with the implementation of the EU Electronic Communications Code.
  • Advising on general EU and UK competition law matters, merger control and compliance.
