Hai-Dang Nguyen is a banking and finance partner in the Financial Services team.

    Hai-Dang is a prominent banking and finance specialist with more than 18 years of widespread experience and expertise across various areas of banking and finance practice, including, in particular, acquisition and leveraged finance, property finance, project and construction finance, structured finance and securitisation, trade finance and general corporate lending. He advises on interest rate and currency hedgings and equity swaps, financial restructuring and financial regulation.

    Hai-Dang recently joined our firm from a multinational law firm, where he led many complex financings.

    Hai-Dang is widely recognised as an astute negotiator with an in-depth knowledge of finance law. He is also well known for his client commitment and commercial approach to problem solving.

    Hai-Dang’s clients come from a wide range of industries, including banking, financial services, commercial real estate and hospitality, energy, mining, construction, automotive, recruitment services, food, agribusiness, education, telecommunications and entertainment.

    Hai-Dang has significant experience of the business cultures in Vietnam and other South East Asian countries. He is a “go to” specialist in relation to expert opinions on banking and financial regulations in Vietnam and other Asian jurisdictions for money laundering cases.

    • Acting for sponsors and equity investors on project and acquisition financing of power and other infrastructure assets, including thermal and renewable energy power plants, toll roads and ports.
    • Acting for sponsors and lenders on acquisition and leveraged financings, including, most recently, on the financing for the acquisition of a major flowers distribution business, the financing for the takeover of a listed REIT and the structured financing for the acquisition of units in a foreign-listed REIT.
    • Acting on equity bridge financings for private equity funds.
    • Acting for listed and unlisted real estate investment funds and real estate fund managers on the financing of commercial and hospitality property acquisitions.
    • Acting for developers, investors and lenders on financings for commercial property developments.
