Vladimira (Val) Papirnik focuses her international business practice on banking, project finance and corporate law in the US and in Central and Eastern Europe.

She has also advised clients on major privatization and greenfield investments in the Czech Republic.

Val has more than 30 years of experience representing financial institutions and corporate clients in connection with all aspects of financings, including bilateral and multilateral corporate and commercial lending, leverage finance, acquisition and other structured finance, real estate and project finance, syndicated secured and unsecured corporate loans. She regularly advises clients on all aspects of cross-border financings and represents a Czech Republic export credit agency in many of its export credit transactions. These transactions span across a broad range of industries and involving a number of jurisdictions.

She is recommended by Chambers Global and Practical Law Company’s Which Lawyer? Yearbook as a leader in corporate/mergers and acquisitions and banking & finance in the Czech Republic. PLC’s Cross-Border Mergers and Acquisitions Handbook and Chambers Europe named her a leader in the field of M&A in the Czech Republic. Val was also named a practice area expert in Legal Experts Europe, Middle East & Africa and listed by The Best Lawyers in the Czech Republic for banking and finance, corporate matters, and mergers and acquisitions.

From 2006-2011, she was named among the most influential businesswomen in the Czech Republic in an annual ranking in Hospodářské noviny. In May 2012, she was elected to the Board of Directors of KBC Group NV as an independent director.
