KwangKyu Park is of counsel in the Litigation Practice Group, based in the London office, and has experience in a wide range of legal matters.   • Advising on a dispute over whether the vessel complied with the CSR (as to fatigue life requirements) and the SOLAS (as to permanent means of access in the double bottom areas).
  • Acting on a dispute arising from the buyer’s rejection of the vessel on the basis of the builder’s breach of the subcontracting provisions of the shipbuilding contract.
  • Advising on a dispute over whether the buyer was entitled to reject the vessel due to the fact that the boiler system of the vessel was unfit for its purpose.
  • Advising on a dispute as to whether the buyer was entitled to reject the vessel due to the fact that the vessel had been constructed using wrong types of steel.
  • Advising on a dispute arising from the force majeure provisions of the shipbuilding contract in respect of delays in the procurement of a piece of machinery which the builder said had been caused by an explosion at a Chinese port.
  • Advising on a post-delivery warranty claim brought by the buyer regarding defects in the on-board cranes.
  • Advising on a post-delivery warranty claim concerning paint coatings.
  • Dealing with disputes relating to the construction of oil platforms.
  • Advising on a dispute concerning the construction of an FPSO.
  • Advising a shipbuilder in contractual negotiations in respect of orders from Qatargas for LNG careers.
  • Acting for a Dutch company in contractual negotiations with a shipbuilder.
  • Advising various sellers’ credit transactions in which the vessels were delivered on the basis that part of the contract price should be paid after delivery of the vessel.
  • Dealing with numerous novation agreements relating to shipbuilding contracts.
