Rick Stilgenbauer is a senior public policy advisor based in Phoenix who serves as an extension of our Public Policy Practice in Washington DC. He leverages his substantial experience in government relations to help clients understand and navigate the US government and advocate policy objectives.

Rick is a dedicated public servant, with more than 18 years of experience in government relations. He has cultivated thousands of professional relationships with government officials at the local, state, federal and international levels. His expertise focuses on leveraging professional relationships to identify opportunities for federal engagement through creative solutions. These solutions range from direct public policy to establishing community-run support organizations.

Previously, Rick served as Director of Arizona Operations and Outreach for US Sen. John McCain. In this role, he developed the senator’s state legislative priorities and managed his state offices. He also acted as a liaison between the senator’s congressional offices and the campaign offices.

Prior to his work with Sen. McCain, Rick served in the Office of Federal Relations for the University of Arizona as a program officer at the Milllennium Challenge Corporation and as a staffer in the US House of Representatives.

Currently, Rick serves as a board member on The Foundation for Female Equity and Inclusion, West Valley Defense Alliance, Northern Arizona Military Affairs Council, Yuma50 (vice-chair) and the Southern Arizona Defense Alliance. Additionally, Rick serves as a strategic advisor to the Arizona Defense and Industry Coalition, Mesa Industry and Defense Council, Mesa Financial Network, COVD-19 Consortium and the eCommerce Industry Council.
