Jane Saunders is a senior associate in our labor and employment team based in our Manchester office. Jane advises on all areas of contentious and non-contentious employment law. 

    In particular, Jane covers Employment Tribunal work, restructuring and project advice and advises clients on the full range of day-to-day employment law issues. She also drafts employment documentation including service agreements, employee handbooks and settlement agreements.

    Jane designs and delivers bespoke in-house training to clients and regularly speaks at client seminars and workshops.

    Jane trained with Squire Patton Boggs and spent four months of her training contract working in our office in Brussels.

    • Advising an international client on the EMEA wide restructure of their central facilities functions affecting employees in 13 jurisdictions including advice regarding consultation with the EWC and the removal of the "Head of" the business in certain countries.
    • Advising a large international organisation in the manufacturing sector on a change to terms and conditions including renegotiation of the site agreement with the recognized trade union and responding to a ballot for strike action and media campaign by the trade union.
    • Advising a client in the advertising industry on the exit of their managing director. This included advice in connection with the resulting grievance (which alleged sex discrimination) and defending the subsequent Employment Tribunal claim alleging unfair dismissal, sex discrimination, harassment and victimisation.
    • Advising a large client in the chemicals sector on the change to terms and conditions of employees at a newly acquired subsidiary business including advice regarding establishment of a staff council and collective consultation to force through the changes.
    • Advising a global client regarding the restructure of their UK operations and potential TUPE transfer of certain aspects of the business to Luxembourg.
    • Advising a corporate and individual client in relation to the threat of injunctive action by the individual's ex-employer.
    • Advising a client in the media sector in connection with the withdrawal of the offer of employment to a senior executive and advising regarding the resulting threat of discrimination proceedings in the UK and Mexico.
    • Advising a UK charity on the implications of TUPE transfers of staff from the NHS and other third sector organisations.
