Amy Scott is a director in the Real Estate Practice and is based in our Manchester office. Amy undertakes a variety of general non-contentious construction work (acting predominantly for developers, retailers and local authorities/public bodies), projects/PFI work and property support work. Amy has also been involved with a number of contentious construction matters.

Amy regularly drafts, advises on and negotiates building contracts, professional team appointments, deeds of novation, collateral warranties, performance bonds, parent company guarantees, development agreements and grant funding agreements.

  • Negotiated the building contract, professional team appointments, novation agreements and related warranties for the developer in connection with the forward funding and sale of a 284-unit PRS scheme in Sheffield.
  • Acting for the forward funder/purchaser in connection with the construction documents for a large PRS scheme in Leeds.
  • Acting for the operator in connection with the construction documents for a large newbuild indoor arena in the UK.
  • Acting for a well-known UK manufacturer/retailer in connection with two of its new warehousing/office facilities and distribution units in the UK.
  • Assisting on a successful adjudication for Manchester City Council in relation to a PFI project.
  • Advising Manchester City Council on the settlement of a dispute relating to the payment mechanism on a PFI project.
  • Advising the Department for Business Innovation and Skills in connection with the novation of a grant funding agreement, including drafting and negotiating the deed of novation and providing advice in relation to an asset transfer agreement.
  • Negotiated the building contract, professional team appointments, novation agreements and related warranties for a mixed-used residential and hotel scheme in the centre of Liverpool.
  • Negotiated the building contract, professional team appointments, novation agreements and related warranties for the refurbishment of a hotel in the centre of Birmingham.
  • Negotiated the building contract, professional team appointments and related warranties in relation to a substantial signature office building for Liverpool City Centre.
  • Negotiated the building contract, professional team appointments and related warranties in relation to an industrial development in Hawarden near Chester.
  • Assisted in the negotiation of development funding agreements for a substantial town centre re-development.
  • Negotiated development agreements for various retail developments.
  • Assisting in advising a consortium on the Leeds Independent Living PFI Project to build approximately 265 units on 30 sites in Leeds that provide supportive accommodation to people with mental health and learning disability needs.
  • Assisting on Manchester City Council's £192 million Miles Platting Social Housing PFI Project.
  • Assisting on the Redcar Street Lighting PFI Project.
  • Assisting on the non-contentious construction aspects of a range of different development projects, acting for developers, retailers and local authorities/public bodies.
  • Provided advice in relation to turbine supply and BOP contracts and associated warranties and bonds for onshore wind projects.
  • Provided advice on installation contracts for off-shore wind projects.
  • Provided advice in relation to services agreements for energy suppliers.
