Diego Sevilla Pascual is a senior associate in the firm’s International Trade Practice in Brussels.

Diego advises on a broad range of international trade and regulatory issues under EU and member state legislations, as well as the application of the WTO agreements. He has a particular focus on export controls and sanctions and trade defence instruments.

He also regularly provides advice on the application of EU and UK sanctions on Russia, Iran and Syria. Diego works with clients in various industries, such as banking, chemicals, oil and gas, construction and steel.

Prior to joining the firm, Diego was an intern at the European Commission’s Legal Service and worked for six and a half years at a Brussels-based law firm in the field of international trade.

Trade Defence

  • Representing EU producers of paper, bicycles, e-bikes, glass fibre fabrics and glass fibre reinforcements in EU anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigations.

EU and UK Sanctions

  • Advising a Spanish bank for transactions related to sanctioned countries and natural and legal persons.
  • Advising an international association of telecommunication operators in relation to EU and UK sanctions and export controls.
  • Advising a UK provider of financial services with regard to its participation in energy-related projects in Russia.
  • Advising a multinational oil company with regard to EU and UK sanctions against Russia.
  • Advising a Spanish oil company in relation to its compliance with international sanctions and export controls.
  • Advising several EU and non-EU financial operators in relation to EU and UK sanctions currently applicable on Russian financial entities.
  • Advising a German distributor of food and beverages in relation to UK and EU sanctions on road transport undertakings established in Russia and Belarus.
