Thamer Shomar is an associate in the Corporate Practice based in our Dubai office.

His practice covers all aspects of corporate work, including domestic and cross-border restructuring and reorganisation, incorporation and company maintenance, cross-border projects, public-private partnerships, and regulatory and general corporate advice.

Thamer advises a multitude of international clients, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and individuals across a range of sectors in the local, national and international market.

Thamer also has experience across various jurisdictions in the Middle East, including Jordan and KSA.

  • Part of the team preparing the local prospectus for the initial public offering of Salik (Dubai’s exclusive toll gate operator) for its listing on the Dubai Financial Market.
  • Represented Queen’s Gambit Growth Capital as local counsel regarding their business combination with regional urban mobility platform SWVL, which listed with an equity value of US$1.5 billion.
  • Drafting the legal memorandum on multijurisdictional restructuring of RADIC Real Estate between KSA, Jordan and UAE.
  • Assisted on the DIT project with the UK government on drafting the gap analysis report for investment restrictions for foreign entities in KSA in various sectors.
  • Part of the local counsel team, along with Linklaters as offshore counsel, managing the public-private partnership project between the International Financial Corporation and the Ministry of Education in Jordan for the establishment of 15 schools across Jordan.
