  • Advising British International Investment (BII), the UK’s development finance institution (DFI) and impact investor, of its joint investment with Idemitsu Kosan, into Skye Renewables Energy Pte Ltd. (Skye), a Southeast Asia-focused renewable energy platform.
  • Advised on Service Level Agreement for Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging services (installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance services for EV chargers).
  • Advising an American Multinational Company (MNC) in connection with its proposed bundled and unbundled energy attributes purchase framework agreement with PLN, Indonesian state utility.
  • Advising an international oil company on its activities that are intended to form the basis for carbon capture, carbon credit extraction and carbon trading framework in Indonesia.
  • Advising a US MNC in connection with its proposed corporate power purchase agreement from a Vietnamese solar power plant project.

Ltd) on the construction contract for an 80MW hydropower plant and a large-scale water storage capacity in Pursat Province, Cambodia.
  • Advising a technology solutions company on its project to build, operate and supply energy storage facilities and services in the Philippines. The facilities will store power generated by a solar power plant on-site and will be built using Chinese-made equipment.
  • Advising on proposed corporate purchase of renewal energy in Singapore, including a proposed virtual solar power purchase agreement with a solar energy provider.
  • Advising a US multinational corporation in connection with its proposed joint purchase with a US tech giant of environmental attributes from a Vietnamese solar power plant project.
  • Acting for a subsidiary of ISDN Holdings Limited (SGX:I07) on its engineering, procurement and construction contracts for mini hydropower plants in Indonesia with Chinese contractors, and financing from Sinosure.

  • Advising Taiwan Power on its long-term LNG purchases for its LNG/gas-to-power plant project in Hsieh-Ho. The LNG will be delivered to an FSRU (with a 170,000-cubic-metre capacity) pending development of the onshore LNG receiving terminal.
  • Advising on purchase of LNG and reselling LNG in ISO containers to international and domestic buyers and equity investments by potential investors in the project.
  • Advising a national oil company in relation to declaration of force majeure on an LNG vessel chartered by its buyer of LNG that it purchased from and to be supplied by Cheniere Energy's Corpus Christi US LNG export terminal.
  • Advising ExxonMobil on its long-term sale of LNG produced from Rovuma, Mozambique Area 4.
  • Advising ExxonMobil on its long-term LNG sale to Zhejiang Provincial Energy Group.
  • Advising an international oil company on US and EU antitrust issues pursuant to its long-term sale of LNG.

  • Advising Ministry of Mines & Energy of an Asian country on its first-ever LNG import licences. Our work involved drafting of a licence to import LNG (covering LNG import, LNG terminal, LNG storage and LNG regasification), licence to distribute gas (covering natural gas transportation and distribution) and licence to purchase gas (covering purchase of natural gas and supply of natural gas to city gas network, power plants and other buyers of natural gas).
  • Advising a leading full-service investment bank on its proposed establishment of an LNG shipping business with a Japanese trading house and on its proposed expansion into the LNG trading business, including setting up LNG trading hubs in Singapore, London and other cities.

  • Advising client on its proposed acquisition of Sinochem's 40% stake in the Peregrino oil fields in the Campos Basin, Brazil.
  • Advising client on its proposed sale of petroleum products to Mercuria through a tender process.

  • Advised a national oil company in connection with claims (including competing claims from bank creditors of Hin Leong Trading) and counterclaims against Hin Leong Trading, an oil trader then undergoing judicial management in Singapore with debts in excess of US$3 billion.
  • Advised a national oil company on its proposed acquisition of participating interests valued in excess of US$1 billion in two Nigerian hydrocarbon fields offered for sale by Total.
  • Advising CNOOC in connection with its divestment from Malacca Strait Production Sharing Contract.
  • Advising a national oil company in relation an arbitration against its upstream oil and gas joint venture partner.
  • Advising on proposed leveraged buyout of company with indirect ownership of vessels providing offshore oil and gas exploration and production services in Nigeria.
  • Advising subsidiary of Yinson Holdings Berhad (KLSE:YINSON) on its deployment of FPSO Abigail-Joseph to the Anyala & Madu fields in Block OML 83 & 85, offshore Nigeria.
  • Advising on the proposed development of an oil refinery in Sapugaskanda, Sri Lanka, and the associated downstream infrastructure.
  • Advising Overseas Petroleum and Investment Africa Corporation on procurement laws of Taiwan and maintenance, repair, operation of oil production agreements in Chad.
  • Advising a consortium led by Russia's RT Global Resources, the subsidiary of Russian state corporation, Rostec, in relation to a request for proposal (RFP) for the financing, development and operation of a US$4 billion oil refinery in Uganda.
  • Advising on the proposed acquisition of the entire share capital of a company existing under the laws of Bermuda, which is the contractor under a Production Sharing Contract for an onshore block in Indonesia.
  • Advising on Myanmar’s form of production sharing contracts for development of onshore and offshore oil and gas fields.
  • Acting for M3nergy Berhad (KLSE:M3NERGY) on its acquisition of 25% participating interest in production sharing contracts and its joint operating agreement with Petronas Carigali and SapuraKencana in connection with Blocks SB331 and SB332 onshore Sabah.
  • Advising a national oil company on its proposed US$2 billion acquisition of participating interest in the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli oil fields in Azerbaijan and other assets, including interest in the 1,768-kilometre Baku-Tibilisi-Cheyhan (BTC) crude oil pipeline connecting Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan and Ceyhan, a port on the south-eastern Mediterranean coast of Turkey, via Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia.
  • Advising on the proposed acquisition of one of the world’s largest petrochemical refineries, Jurong Aromatics Corporation (JAC), in Singapore, during the receivership of JAC.
  • Advising on the proposed acquisition of pipe laying vessel, Lewek Constellation, from a subsidiary of EMAS Chiyoda Subsea, during its US Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings.
  • Advised a national oil company on its proposed purchase of Shell’s 17% participating interest in the Mukhaiznah production sharing contract in Oman.
  • Advising SK Gas in connection with its joint venture with Mitsui & Co, Bangladeshi East Coast Group and Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation to develop LPG import and bottling terminal in Maheshkhali, Bangladesh.
  • Advising Pertamina on the development of proposed US$8 billion integrated refinery and petrochemical plant (with processing capacity of up to 350,000 barrels per day of crude oil and of around 2.5 million of naphtha, respectively) in Balongan, Indonesia.
  • Advising Pertamina on its US$5 billion refinery development master plan (RDMP) for Balikpapan refinery in Indonesia, which involves upgrading and modernisation of the 260,000-b/d refinery.
  • Advising on the proposed acquisition of shares in a publicly listed company focused on oil and gas exploration and production in Indonesia.
  • Advising a shipyard on its EPC contracts for the fabrication of drill ships for deployment into Brazilian deepwater, including issues related to the potential insolvency of the buyer.
  • Advising China Offshore Oil Engineering Co. Ltd (COOEC) (SHA:600583) in connection with its EPC contract for the fabrication of FPSOs P-67 & P-70 for deployment to Brazilian deepwater.
  • Advising an Asian shipyard on sanctions rules imposed by the US and the EU against Russia in connection with the shipyard’s supply of a dock and floating crane to an affiliate of Russian entities that are blocked by these sanctions and on the supply and construction contract between the parties.
  • Advising a subsidiary of M3nergy Berhad (KLSE:M3NERGY) in connection with supply and construction of topsides/modules of its floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel, Ratu Nusantara, to be deployed to Bukit Tua field development project in Indonesia.

  • Advising on PT Indonesia Chemical Alumina on its chemical grade alumina production facilities in Tayan, Kalimantan, Indonesia, including restructuring of the financing for the project and acquisition of intellectual property.
  • Advising PT ANTAM NiTERRA HALTIM on its development, construction, ownership and operation of a ferronickel blast furnace smelting project to be built at East Halmahera, Maluku, Indonesia, with the capacity of producing 80,000 metric tonnes of ferronickel per year.
  • Advising ANTAM (ASX:ATM; IDX:ANTM) on its investment in PT Nusantara Halmahera Minerals, a joint venture between ANTAM and Newcrest Mining (ASX:NCM) and operates the Gosowong gold mines in Indonesia.
  • Advising ANTAM (ASX:ATM; IDX:ANTM) on its acquisition of 20% of shares held by Showa Denko K.K. (TYO: 4004) in PT Indonesia Chemical Alumina, which developed, owns and operates chemical grade alumina production facilities in Tayan, Kalimantan, Indonesia, and restructuring of the financing for the project and acquisition of intellectual property.
  • Advising a subsidiary of PT Merdeka Copper Gold Tbk (IDX: MDKA) on construction contracts for its Tujuh Bukit gold and copper mine in Java, Indonesia, which is partially funded from its US$130 million project financing by a syndicate of banks comprising HSBC (Singapore, Hong Kong and Jakarta), BNP Paribas (Singapore and Paris) and Société Générale (Hong Kong and Paris).
  • Advising PT Feni Haltim, a subsidiary of ANTAM (ASX:ATM; IDX:ANTM), on its proposed US$1.6 billion development, construction and operation, as well as limited recourse financing, of a ferronickel smelter and ancillary facilities, including coal-fired and diesel-fired power plants, in East Halmahera, Maluku, Indonesia.

Infrastructure

  • Advising a supplier of equipment for installation on vessels under construction at Hanjin Heavy Industries and Construction Philippines (HHIC Phil)’s shipyard in the Philippines in connection with HHIC Phil's bankruptcy filings, which was the largest bankruptcy in the Philippines, with unpaid loan obligations amounting to US$412 million.
  • Advising Chinese state-owned shipping firm, COSCO Shipping Corporation Limited (COSCO) and Lianyungang Port Holdings Group Co., Ltd (Lianyungang), on the acquisition of 49% in SEZ Khorgos-Eastern Gateway project, a dry port project in the Khorgos-East Gate Special Economic Zone logistics area, at the border of China and Kazakhstan, with the national railway company of Kazakhstan, Temir Zholy. The project is part of China’s Belt Road Initiative.
  • Advising Evoqua Water Technologies (NYSE:AQUA) on its US$110 million divestment of Memcor® membrane product line to DuPont (NYSE: DD).
  • Advised MRT Corporation Berhad on the construction contract and financing for the US$7 billion 40-kilometre Line 3/Circle Line of Kuala Lumpur’s metro system.
  • Advising Shanghai Keolis Public Transport Operation Management (Shenkai) Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of Keolis, in relation to the preparation of an operation and maintenance contract for Shanghai Pudong international airport light rail/rapid transit system.
  • Advising on a co-investment opportunity in a water fund that invests into small-to-medium-sized water companies in Asia.
  • Advising a tech giant providing on-demand cloud computing platforms and application programming interfaces (APIs) in relation to the localisation of its standard construction contracts for data centres in Singapore and Indonesia.
