Fabrizio Vismara is a partner in the Litigation and Tax Strategy & Benefits Practice in our Milan office.

An experienced corporate and tax lawyer, and professor of international law, Fabrizio represents Italian and international clients on domestic and cross-border financial regulatory, corporate and tax matters.

Fabrizio focuses his practice on cross-border mergers and acquisitions and represents funds and strategic investors in private equity transactions, corporate restructurings and foreign investments, as well as acting for Italian and international clients on antitrust matters.

Fabrizio acts for clients on the taxation of controlled foreign corporations, transfer pricing issues, and matters governed by international tax treaties to which Italy is a party. His activity includes tax and antitrust disputes, representing Italian and foreign clients, multinational companies and banks in dealings with the public administration on tax matters and relevant obligations. He also advises clients on the taxation of financial instruments, the application of currency regulations, double taxation agreements, and EU customs and VAT legislation.

Fabrizio’s litigation expertise encompasses banking and financial disputes before Italian courts, including the Italian Supreme Court, and his tax expertise includes assisting in the settlement of tax disputes before tax authorities.

In addition, Fabrizio assists clients on data privacy and regulatory compliance matters, and advises banks, investment funds and financial institutions on a range of financial regulatory matters.

Fabrizio is a Professor of International Law at the University of Insubria.

  • Assisted a major Italian energy supplier company in court litigation regarding the infringement of a supply and subcontract agreement and action in tort.
  • Assisted a logistics and transport group in connection with M&A transactions including foreign targets.
  • Assisted a foreign sovereign fund in a number of commercial and financial litigations before Italian courts
