Please join us for an informative webinar covering the latest employment law changes in California, New York, Illinois and Colorado. With several new regulations and statutory developments taking effect across these states, this session will help you understand what is currently in effect, what changes are forthcoming and how to stay compliant.

We will cover:

  • Key statutory, regulatory and case law developments at the state and local level

  • New compliance requirements for employers

  • Practical steps to prepare your organization

  • Common pitfalls and how to avoid them

This session is designed for HR professionals, business leaders and anyone responsible for managing workplace policies across multiple jurisdictions.

The California portion will highlight recent 2025–2026 developments affecting wage and hour compliance, leave and notice obligations, pay data reporting and evolving enforcement trends; including developments under the Private Attorney General's Act (PAGA) and recent reforms impacting standing, penalties and cure opportunities, as well as key pending legislation from the 2026 session that employers should monitor.

The New York portion will discuss recent developments and trends across wage and hour, leave and anti-discrimination law, including minimum wage and salary threshold increases, expanded leave obligations, pay transparency requirements and the codification of disparate impact liability theory into New York’s human rights law.

The Colorado portion will highlight recent legislative developments, including state regulation of occupational exposure to heat, an expanded definition of who is an employer in the state wage and hour context, tip credit changes at the local government level and increased family and medical leave benefits for families with children receiving neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) care.

The Illinois portion will discuss recent state law updates that expand employee leave and workplace protections including paid lactation breaks, new and expanded military, NICU and organ donation leave and highlight key employer compliance changes affecting non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), equal pay registration, E Verify practices, Illinois Department of Human Rights (IDHR) charge procedures and employee use of employer-issued devices for domestic violence related purposes.

This webinar forms part of our 2026 US Labor & Employment Webinar Series, featuring four informative sessions held on Wednesdays throughout the month of May. Each session is pending Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit for 1.0 general hour in Arizona, California, New Jersey, New York and Ohio.
