Global law firm Squire Patton Boggs has appointed partner Abby Brown as Americas Chair of its Global Corporate Practice.
Ms. Brown most recently served as Corporate Deputy Practice Group Leader for the firm’s Washington, DC office and brings more than two decades of experience advising public and private companies on mergers and acquisitions, securities transactions, corporate governance and other strategic matters. In her new capacity, she will lead a team spanning 17 firm offices and work closely with leaders across the global platform to accelerate the growth of the corporate practice, which comprises more than 400 attorneys around the world. She succeeds Cipriano “Cip” Beredo.

Ms. Brown is a trusted adviser to global companies navigating complex legal and business issues. She serves as primary outside securities compliance, M&A and governance counsel to a number of public companies – ranging from Fortune 500 companies to smaller, high-growth businesses. She has completed more than 200 mergers and acquisitions of public and private companies on both the buy- and sell-side. In addition to routinely advising corporate Boards of Directors, she has also acted as corporate secretary of multiple public and privately held financial companies, as well as acting general counsel to a publicly traded consulting firm.
