In a video interview with Ignites Europe, Monica Gogna, global head of financial services regulation at Squire Patton Boggs, says financial watchdogs are playing a key role in tech developments such as tokenisation.
“I think what is very clear, and I think this has been a trend for a number of years now, is that regulators are shifting the dial in terms of what they are perceived as doing. So often, regulators were seen as the people who were blockers or not enabling business and not encouraging innovation. And I think what you see across the board, whether it's the EU, in the UK, in the US, is that regulators are becoming more of an enabler.”
