Squire Patton Boggs has advised management in respect of Canada Pension Plan Investment Board and Equinix, Inc.’s acquisition of atNorth, a leading Nordic high-density colocation and built-to-suit data centre provider, from Partners Group for an enterprise value of US$4 billion.
The Squire Patton Boggs team was led by Corporate partners Ben Squires and Andrew Slucky.
atNorth operates eight data centres, with several additional sites under development across Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden, with 1 gigawatt of secured power and a considerable amount of additional future capacity planned.
This is the second time the firm has acted for atNorth’s management, having advised management on Partners Group’s investment in 2021.
Chief executive officer of atNorth, Eyjólfur Magnús Kristinsson, commented: “We appreciate the support and counsel provided by Squire Patton Boggs throughout this transaction. Their experience and steady guidance were valuable to management during an important milestone for the company”.
