Squire Patton Boggs has appointed Amanda Small as a partner to head the firm’s Pensions Practice in Manchester. Amanda joins from Eversheds Sutherland alongside director Alison White, also from Eversheds Sutherland.
The move sees Amanda return to Squire Patton Boggs, where she previously spent eight years. Amanda and Alison advise trustees, corporate sponsors and providers on defined contribution (DC), defined benefit (DB) and hybrid pension arrangements, with Amanda bringing extensive experience advising trustees and providers of commercial DC master trusts and large own-trust DC pensions plans.
They also have particular expertise advising on endgame solutions, including DB buy-in and buy-out transactions, insurance de-risking strategies, run-on options, and consolidation through commercial superfunds.
