Hiroki Suyama is a seasoned international corporate lawyer who advises Japan-based companies on cross-border legal matters and global business expansion, with a focus on operations across the US, Asia and Europe. He provides strategic counsel on a broad range of legal issues, including corporate and commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate governance, capital markets, intellectual property, real estate, employment, dispute resolution and regulatory compliance.

As trusted outside general counsel to numerous Japanese companies, Hiroki works closely with executive leadership, legal departments and boards of directors to support day-to-day operations, manage legal risks and guide long-term strategic planning. He routinely assists clients in structuring and negotiating complex cross-border transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and strategic alliances. His transactional experience spans multiple industries, including automotive, transportation and logistics, food and beverage, entertainment, technology, manufacturing and energy.

In addition to his transactional work, Hiroki has represented clients in high-stakes disputes involving shareholder rights, breach of contract claims, intellectual property matters and government investigations. He is experienced in litigation in US federal and state courts, as well as in arbitration and other alternative dispute resolution forums.

Before entering the legal profession, Hiroki was a certified public accountant at a global accounting firm. His background in finance enhances his ability to advise on transactions involving financial structuring, valuation and accounting.
