Speaker Profiles

  • Selma Baouch is a Partner in our corporate team in Amstredam and has been instrumental in establishing our Netherlands presence. Selmas advises multinational enterprises on their legal position and primarily focuses on national and international mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate restructuring and reorganisations, shareholder agreements, international financial transactions and general corporate law issues. 

  • Vivian Bernstein is a legal and compliance executive with over 20 years of experience in her native NYC and Amsterdam. She began her career as an M&A lawyer before transitioning in-house, where she has held senior roles at PVH, Philips, Danone, and most recently Shell, serving as General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer, and Corporate Secretary. She brings a particular focus to the intersection of energy transition, regulatory compliance, and artificial intelligence, areas where her business-focused approach and strategic insights have helped global organizations navigate complex transformation agendas.

  • Herb Hotchkiss is an attorney with nearly 30 years of legal experience.  Since March of 2019, he has been the General Counsel of Chart Industries, Inc., a $6.5B public company that manufactures equipment and provides technologies utilized in the handling and storage of gas and liquid molecules, with over 104 worldwide locations. Previously, Herb spent several years as the first GC for Truck-Lite Co., Inc. (now Clarience Technologies), an international manufacturer of visibility products for commercial vehicles, located in Detroit, Michigan.

  • Matthew Kirk is an international affairs advisor in our Public Policy International Practice. A career diplomat, he served as the UK’s Ambassador to Finland from 2002 to 2006. Most recently, he served as external affairs director at Vodafone. Matthew is a highly experienced international risk strategist and negotiator of complex geo-political issues. Additionally, he has experience in technology and AI, cybersecurity, political risk, regulatory issues and reputation risk, as well as external communications, sustainable business and corporate philanthropy.

  • Peter Sellar is a partner and has extensive experience advising clients on EU environmental, social and governance law and provides a top-to-bottom service, from assisting with advocacy campaigns on EU legislation to advising on compliance with EU law, as well as taking legal challenges against EU laws before the European Courts and tribunals, including seminal Classification and Labelling Regulation and REACH Regulation cases. 

  • Ioana Patrascu is a senior counsel in Booking.com's regulatory compliance team, with 9+ years of experience across digital platform regulation, fintech and financial regulation. Prior to Booking.com, Ioana was a senior associate at De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek where she advised private equity clients in M&A and post-M&A disputes.
