The UK government has assembled a taskforce dedicated to “levelling up” the regional inequalities in the UK. Supported by a £4.2 billion fund, the taskforce has big ideas for a “global Britain” – establishing the North as an attractive landing pad for foreign investment and a region where people will want to work and live.
