Matt Canipa
Partner
Matt Canipa is a partner in our Corporate and Private Equity teams in the UK. Matt’s expertise covers all types of corporate work, in particular private equity and mainstream mergers and acquisitions on both a domestic and international basis.
On the corporate side, Matt’s clients range from owner-managers to listed companies. On the private equity side, Matt has a breadth of experience advising private equity houses/sponsors, their portfolio companies and management teams on private equity investments and buy and build/growth strategies.
Matt was nominated for the Young Dealmaker of the Year award at the Insider Awards 2021 and the Rising Star award at the Rainmakers Awards 2021.
- Representing Miss Group and its management team on investments from BGF, Perwyn and over 25 international acquisitions.
- Representing the management team of Adler & Allan on its management buyout backed by Sun European Partners.
- Representing the management team of Concept Life Sciences on its investment by Limerston Capital.
- Representing the shareholders of AnyVan (Celeres Investments, CEO/founder, management) on its £125 million growth capital investment by Vitruvian Partners.
- Representing the management team of Twinkl on its investment by Vitruvian Partners.
- Representing the selling shareholders (including Great Hill Partners) of Reward Gateway on its sale to Castik Capital and Abry Partners.
- Representing the founders and other selling shareholders of Qmee (one of the top 100 fastest-growing tech companies in Europe according to the Financial Times 1000 2021) on their sale to funds advised by private equity sponsor, CapitalD.
- Representing the Six Nations management team on the investment by CVC.
- Representing ECI Partners on its investment in Clear Insurance, Arkessa, KB Associates, Moneypenny and Send For Help.
- Representing NorthEdge Capital on the buyout of Belfield Furnishings and Cloud Technology Solutions.
- Representing Regis Group PLC and its founders on their multibillion-dollar joint venture with Blackstone in the PRS real estate sector, Leaf Living.
- Representing Maven Capital Partners on its investment into ProofID.
- Representing BGF on its investment into Komi Group.
