Justin Cloyd is a member of the Restructuring & Insolvency Practice Group, and is deeply involved in the firm’s corporate restructuring, bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings. Justin has experience representing debtors and creditors, including unsecured creditors’ committees. His restructuring experience encompasses a wide variety of industries, including steel, coal, aviation, healthcare and senior assisted living.

Prior to joining the firm, Justin clerked for Bankruptcy Judge Edward L. Morris and Magistrate Judge Candace Smith. There, he immersed himself in the intricacies of various court-made and legislative laws, most relevantly the US Bankruptcy Code and the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. As a law clerk, Justin was involved in more than 100 cases concerning consumer and corporate debt restructuring, including complex chapter 11 filings. He also aided in the adjudication of many sophisticated legal issues, such as fraudulent transfers, jurisdictional questions related to Article I courts and habeas corpus.

Justin is the assistant editor of the firm’s Restructuring GlobalView blog and is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute.
