James Fitzgibbon is a partner in our Corporate Practice based in the Manchester office, specialising in all aspects of corporate acquisitions, disposals and joint venture arrangements, with particular expertise in private equity transactions. He advises a mixture of private equity investors, corporates, entrepreneurs and individuals on acquisitions, investments, disposals and strategic partnering arrangements across a range of sectors. James’ clients benefit from the significant experience he has developed through dealing with institutional investors from all sides of a transaction.

  • Acted for the shareholders on the disposal of Clear Group to Goldman Sachs, and multiple platform acquisitions for Clear Group.
  • Acted for the founders of Twinkl on a significant minority investment from Vitruvian.
  • Acted for ECI on multiple platform investments and exits, including Arkessa (and exit to Wireless Logic), KB Associates (and exit to Waystone) and in 2023 its investment in ISMS online.
  • Acted for management in the Inflexion investment into Village Vets.
  • Acted for BGF on multiple investments, including Unique Digital, European Braking Systems and Evolution Aqua.
  • Acted for the shareholders of Burnt Tree Vehicle solutions on its disposal to Enterprise Rent-a-Car.
  • Advised Radius Payment Solutions on multiple platform acquisitions.
