Till Hackstein’s practice focuses on commercial litigation and international dispute resolution. Educated in the US and Germany, he advises multinational corporations and sovereign entities in high-stakes and complex disputes before the US and German state courts, and before international arbitral tribunals.

Till’s practice spans across a broad range of industries and business sectors, including automotive, technology, energy and capital markets. He advises clients on a diverse range of disputes in these areas, with a particular focus on product liability, post-M&A, environmental-related issues and securities actions.

Prior to joining the firm, Till completed a two-year clerkship with the Frankfurt Court of Appeals in Germany, and worked as an associate at another leading US law firm, in its Frankfurt office.

  • Advised a leading German car manufacturer in product liability disputes as coordination counsel during pre-litigation investigations, and litigation proceedings before state courts across the US, and as local counsel before California state courts.
  • Advised a leading US car manufacturer in emissions-related mass litigation proceedings before German trial and appellate courts.
  • Advised a leading global chemical company in an ICC arbitration with a seat in Germany, concerning a post-M&A dispute with an amount in dispute exceeding €500 million.
  • Advised a South American sovereign in German bondholder litigation proceedings before German trial and appellate courts, and in enforcement proceedings in Germany and the US.
  • Advised a Brazilian oil company on German substantive and procedural law in a Dutch securities class action.
