Claire is a senior solicitor in our Real Estate Practice based in our Manchester office. Claire deals with all aspects of commercial property with a particular focus on property development and regeneration, and is also a key member of our Chemicals Group.

Claire is qualified to practice in England and Wales and in 2001 she also qualified to practice in Australia.

  • Acting for a joint venture company against Wigan MBC acquiring Robin Park Wigan to provide over 300,000 square feet of retail and leisure use.
  • Acting for a joint venture company in its development, letting and funding of The Light Leeds to provide 360,000 square feet of a mixture of uses including a hotel (in a listed building) and retail, restaurant, leisure and lifestyle uses behind a listed façade.
  • Acting for the developer in a joint venture with The City and County of Swansea for a mixed leisure and retail development. This involved a complex site assembly, construction of 3 bridges spanning the River Tawe, relocation of the City's football stadium, new leisure facilities and an out-of-town retail park.
  • Advising Southampton City Council in respect of a high profile office development within the City centre, involving State Aid and public procurement issues.
  • Acting for English Partnerships and North West Development Agency on the provision of gap funding in connection with various development projects.
  • Representing Cheshire County Council in respect of a CPO by Chester City Council relating to ING's proposed Northgate Development in Chester City Centre to provide 440,000 square feet of new retail space, a new performing arts centre, library, market hall, bus station, and residential apartments. Detailed land swap and relocation arrangements were necessary in respect of the County Council’s holdings.
