Dr. Alexander Imberg is licensed to practice in both the US (California) and Germany. He is a native German and has been practicing in the US since 1996. Prior to this, Alexander practiced in Germany where he represented clients in general civil and commercial litigation matters. Alexander’s successful litigation representation in the US and abroad is centered on the automotive, technology and energy industries. He has focused his practice on complex, commercial, products liability and intellectual property litigation, with an emphasis on the defense of German and other European manufacturers in US courts.
Alexander represents clients in state and federal courts throughout the US (most recently in California, Texas, Pennsylvania, New York, Nevada, Louisiana, Florida, Delaware and Missouri), predominantly in complex and high-stakes litigation. He regularly appears in US federal and state courts, and has tried major US cases to verdict.
Alexander’s practice focuses on the defense of manufacturers and distributors of various products, including automotive and other consumer products, from wrongful death, catastrophic injury and major property loss claims. His practice includes fire origin and cause investigation pursuant to National Fire Protection Association 921 Guide for Fire and Explosion Investigations, as well as related litigation.
Litigation Coordination/Risk Management
Alexander serves as national coordinating counsel for numerous companies, including one of Germany's premier auto manufacturers and a leading German plumbing system manufacturer. In that role, he coordinates teams of attorneys, in-house and external experts, as well as local counsel in litigation and pre-litigation claims across the US. He also counsels clients in the area of product safety, preventive product liability and risk management.
In his role as the chair of firm’s global German Practice, Alexander frequently advises European companies in establishing subsidiaries and setting up business operations in the US. He also assists his clients in complex commercial transactions and contract negotiations as part of multi-disciplinary teams.
