Christopher Roberts is a partner in the Restructuring & Insolvency Practice Group, based in our Manchester office. Christopher’s practice focuses on both advisory and transactional aspects of financial distress, working with lenders, corporates, insolvency practitioners and sponsors across a wide variety of sectors.

  • Acting for FTI on the trading administration and subsequent sale of the business and assets of TriRx Speke Limited to a US-listed entity. This politically sensitive transaction involved a 40-acre pharmaceutical site with over 300 employees.
  • Acting for A&M as administrators of Aartee Bright Bar Limited, including urgent advice on appointment validity, contested creditor applications and serious governance issues. The court case was reported given its legal and public interest significance.
  • Acting for Kroll as administrators of DeTrafford Wavelength Limited in a high-value and complex mandate involving a circa £100 million proposed development in Salford Quays.
  • Acting for Duff & Phelps on the administration of Calvetron Brands Limited, a leading concession-based retailer of ladies clothing and accessories. The company operated out of over 350 locations (including over 60 outside the UK and Ireland) and employed circa 1,500 employees.
  • Advising Close Invoice Finance in relation to the restructuring and refinancing of Cordant Group.
  • Advising Duff & Phelps as administrators of the British Home Stores (BHS) group of companies – one of the UK’s largest retail insolvencies, with the group employing 11,000 people at 164 stores across the UK.
  • Advising Ernst & Young as administrators of KSR Electronic Systems Limited. Trading and funding arrangements, with two Europe-based tier one automotive suppliers, were agreed to ensure continued provision of goods and services within a just-in-time supply chain model.
