  • Represented a US agriculture service provider in the sale of the company to its closest competitor, including successfully navigating an investigation before the Department of Justice (DOJ) Antitrust Division.
  • Advised a US manufacturing company on its sale to a global competitor, overseeing international merger control filings and coordinating related investigations in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Represented a medical device manufacturer in its sale to a competitor, including successfully navigating a Federal Trade Commission (FTC) investigation into the combination.
  • Defended a leading container ship operator in a grand jury investigation focused on price fixing/bid rigging in the global shipping industry, and developed a global compliance program.
  • Represented a putative class of consumer packaged goods companies against a dominant provider of in-store promotion and free-standing insert coupons.
  • Defended a leading medical device manufacturer in a series of class action cases alleging monopolization of multiple product markets through the use of alleged refusals to deal, discount programs, and bundling of goods and services.
  • Represented trade association US Chamber of Commerce in connection with litigation alleging violations of sections of the Sherman Act related to the exercise of monopoly power in the wholesale power market in the Carolinas.
  • Advised a hotel trade association in connection with the FTC’s investigation into anticompetitive practices in the hospitality industry.
  • Defended a telecommunications company in the DOJ antitrust review of its reverse merger with a competitor in a deal valued at over US$10 billion.
  • Represented a broadcast television company in connection with the review of its merger valued at over US$2.2 billion.
  • Represented a multinational agriculture corporation and fruit and vegetable producer in the sale to a competitor, including Hart-Scott-Rodino Act (HSR) and multiple global merger control filings.
  • Defended a leading airline in connection with the DOJ antitrust review of and challenge to a merger valued at US$11 billion.
  • Defended a South Korean multinational electronics company in the price-fixing civil litigation brought by individual purchasers and state attorneys general in federal and state courts regarding TFT-LCD flat panel displays.
