Michael Washbush is an associate in the Corporate Practice Group, where he focuses on the representation of corporate and institutional clients on matters such as merger and acquisition transactions, venture capital transactions and institutional and private equity financing, as well as general corporate governance and developing and executing complicated strategic plans of corporate reorganizations. Michael is regarded by his team for his exceptional work ethic and drive, as well as his ability to collaborate across channels and offices to create a seamless experience for his colleagues and clients alike.
Prior to joining the firm, Michael was a student lawyer at Michigan Law’s Zell Entrepreneurship Clinic, where he counseled technology startup businesses on organizational matters and intellectual property rights, completed trademark applications and advised NCAA student-athletes on name, image and likeness agreements. While in law school, Michael served as a student senate representative and received a Certificate of Merit award in Civil Procedure.
Prior to law school, Michael worked as a manager for a multinational automotive and clean energy company, where he facilitated resolutions to customer escalations to prevent yield-losses and led his team to set a record number of monthly deliveries, resulting in multimillion-dollar gross sales. In this role, Michael honed his ability to resolve complex disputes, evaluate operational risk and implement strategic solutions, and in turn, developed skills that not only drove measurable business success but also laid a strong foundation for his transition into corporate law. Outside of his professional responsibilities, Michael spends his time mentoring youth as an elementary school basketball coach and as an instructor in a local youth athletics program.
