Global law firm Squire Patton Boggs announced that Giancarlo Pellegrini has joined as a partner in its Government Investigations & White Collar Practice, where he will lead the Congressional Investigations Group. Giancarlo joins from the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform of the U.S. House of Representatives, where he served as Senior Counsel leading some of the most high-profile congressional investigations in recent years.

About Giancarlo Pellegrini:
In his prior role, Giancarlo led significant investigations on behalf of Ranking Member Robert Garcia (D-CA), including work related to the crimes of Jeffrey Epstein, where he oversaw investigative teams and led depositions of key witnesses. His extensive experience also includes senior leadership roles in major congressional inquiries, including serving as Democratic Staff Director to the Task Force on the Attempted Assassination of President Donald J. Trump, where he managed hearings, investigative strategy, and oversight of federal agencies.
Giancarlo also served on select investigative bodies addressing national security and public policy issues, including as Democratic Chief Counsel to the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic where he led the Minority’s engagement in the investigation into the origins of the COVID-19 virus. He began his career in the House as Elections Counsel to the Committee on House Administration, where he led the House’s legal preparations for the electoral count on January 6, 2021, and led subsequent legislative efforts to reform the Electoral Count Act of 1887.
Prior to his time in Congress, Giancarlo served for four years as Assistant Counsel to former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo where he helped write laws, regulations, and executive orders related to election law, civil rights, affordable housing, and veterans’ affairs.
He earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School is admitted to practice in New York, the District of Columbia and the Supreme Court of the United States.
