State of the Nation: Has the US finally reached a P3 tipping point?

Mentioned in P3 Bulletin

P3 Bulletin featured Alethia Nancoo and David Schnittger in an article examining the strength of the U.S. public-private partnership (P3) market and whether current momentum is sustainable. Discussing market conditions, Alethia noted that “there is a robust appetite for fully thought out P3 projects,” adding that “debt finance is always over-subscribed” and that “having projects that are bankable and the right size is critical.” She also highlighted growing interest in education infrastructure projects, observing that “a number of jurisdictions are looking at the opportunity to conduct leverage financings to deliver new K-12 campuses in a coordinated fashion rather than one school at a time.”

David pointed to the bipartisan support that continues to drive infrastructure development, citing the Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act of 2026 and its proposed permitting reforms. He explained that while the legislation is unlikely to come to a vote until after the midterm elections, “there will be an opportunity for it to potentially be signed into law before the end of the year.” David added that “the certainty that comes with these reforms creates a better opportunity for deal making.”
