Amanda Preston is a trial and appellate lawyer whose practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, with an emphasis on product liability, mass tort, multi-district, and class action cases.

Amanda has experience representing a variety of clients in both federal and state courts, including those in the medical device, pharmaceutical, insurance, automotive, construction and healthcare industries. Amanda also has significant experience serving as appellate counsel in proceedings before Florida and federal courts.

Experience

  • Representing manufacturers and distributors of pelvic mesh, hernia mesh, pharmaceuticals and other complex medical devices in federal and state court.
  • Member of a defense team that obtained a complete defense verdict in January 2020 in the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida in a pelvic mesh case where the plaintiff alleged design defects and negligence. Reported at Salinero v. Johnson & Johnson, 400 F. Supp. 3d 1334 (S.D. Fla. 2019); Salinero v. Johnson & Johnson, No. 1:18-cv-23643-UU, 2019 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 179586 (S.D. Fla. Sep. 5, 2019); Salinero v. Ethicon, Inc., No. 1:18-CV-23643, 2020 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 128484 (S.D. Fla. July 16, 2020).
  • Member of a defense team that obtained a complete defense verdict in January 2023 in the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida in a pelvic mesh case where the plaintiff alleged design defect, failure to warn and negligence claims.
  • Member of defense team for a design-build general contractor in the tragic Florida International University pedestrian bridge collapse, including extensive work in the defense and resolution of fifteen consolidated wrongful death and personal injury lawsuits.
  • Litigating complex breach of warranty and construction defect claims against developers, design professionals and contractors involving high-rise, luxury real estate.
  • Representing healthcare and insurance companies in state court and arbitration proceedings.
  • Litigating complex real estate disputes, foreclosure proceedings and contentious post-judgment collection proceedings.
  • Litigating various tort claims arising under Florida law, including defamation, civil conspiracy, and fraudulent transfers.
