About Chris

Chris Crawford is a principal in the firm’s Public Policy Practice, where he helps clients understand and engage with the federal policy and legislative process, drawing on more than two decades of experience advising members of Congress, advancing legislative priorities and managing congressional operations at the highest levels of the US House of Representatives. He brings particular experience in healthcare, energy, environment, technology, agriculture, appropriations and economic policy.

Most recently, Chris served as chief of staff to Congressman Earl L. “Buddy” Carter, a position he held for nearly 12 years. As the congressman’s senior advisor, he directed legislative, policy, communications and operational activities for offices in Washington DC and Georgia, while helping to advance priorities before the House Energy and Commerce and Budget Committees. He also worked closely with Congressman Carter during his chairmanship of the Health and Environment Subcommittees, as well as his vice-chairmanship of the Communications and Technology Subcommittee.

Prior to joining Congressman Carter’s office, Chris spent more than nine years on the staff of Congressman Jack Kingston, including as deputy chief of staff and communications director. In those roles, he supported the work of a senior member of the House Appropriations Committee and assisted with legislative and policy matters involving the Agriculture, Defense, and Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education Subcommittees.

Chris’ background includes campaign leadership as well. He has managed statewide and congressional campaigns, served as an advisor to the vice chairman of the National Republican Campaign Committee and advised leadership on investment in key races around the country.

Chris earned a B.A. in international affairs from the University of Georgia.
