About Darren

Darren Warburton is an EMEA lead of our Chemicals Group and a partner in our Global Corporate Practice Group, based in our Manchester office. He is the relationship partner for a number of major clients, including INEOS, Innospec, Kemira Oyj and BASF. His particular expertise covers a range of corporate transactions, including international and domestic mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures, regularly undertaking work in Europe, Asia and North America.

Experience

  • Advising Kemira Oyj in relation to its acquisition of Albermarle UK Limited.
  • Assisting INEOS in relation to its US$220 million sale of its global fluorochemicals business to Mexichem.
  • Advising INEOS in relation to the sale of its E-PVC business to Vinnolit GmbH K Co, KG.
  • Advising Hexion (now Momentive) on the sale of its defoamer business to Münzing Chemie GmbH.
  • Assisting INEOS in relation to due diligence and integration matters concerning the €670 million acquisition of Kerling ASA (Hydro Polymers) from Norsk Hydro ASA.
  • Advising INEOS in relation to its acquisition of the white salt business of Salt Union/Compass Minerals.
  • Advising BASF in relation to the sale of its pharmaceutical intermediates business (Cramlington Pharmaceuticals) to Aesica Pharmaceuticals Limited.
  • Tri-partite PRC joint venture including UK, PRC and Japanese manufacturers.
