Loana Martín is a senior attorney in our Washington DC office specializing in the construction and development of energy and infrastructure projects.
Loana provides clients with comprehensive advice in connection with the development of large-scale energy and infrastructure projects, mergers, acquisitions and myriad corporate transactions. An integral part of Loana’s practice consists of drafting and negotiating agreements relating to the engineering, procurement, construction, operation and maintenance of projects, as well as the structuring and formation of strategic partnerships, consortia and project development vehicles for public and private entities, investors, developers, owner/sponsors, equipment manufacturers, contractors and other interested parties for global infrastructure projects throughout the world.
Representing a member of the shareholder group for the Manzanillo liquefied natural gas (LNG)-to-power complex, which includes two combined-cycle power plants – each with a net installed capacity of approximately 420MW – and an LNG reception, storage and regasification facility capable of supplying gas-fired power plants with up to 800MW of capacity, located near the Port of Manzanillo in the Dominican Republic. Reflecting its impact and complexity, the transaction was recognized as Power Deal of the Year, Latin America at the Infra Global Awards 2025.
Representing a US energy storage company focused on developing a new class of multiday energy storage systems to enable a reliable, clean and affordable year-round electric grid, including work on battery energy supply agreements, engineering, procurement and construction agreements, as well as a long-term service agreement for a battery energy storage system.
Representing a Dominican energy company in connection with the development of a new approximately 420MW natural gas fired combined cycle power generation facility and associated 345kV switchyard, interconnection line, 300-meter natural gas pipeline and ancillary facilities.
