About Patrick

Patrick (Pat) Maney is an associate in the Restructuring & Insolvency Practice Group and has experience representing companies and creditors in a variety of industries including energy, manufacturing, automotive, retail, healthcare and senior living.

Pat's practice also includes complex commercial litigation, with experience handling disputes involving fraudulent transfers, preference actions, breaches of fiduciary duties, contract disputes and other high stakes matters. In addition, he advises clients on corporate governance matters, mergers and acquisitions, as well as other strategic business transactions.

Pat brings a unique blend of legal insight and financial expertise to his practice, drawing on his previous experience as an asset manager for a boutique real estate investment firm in the Cincinnati area. His experience in this role along with his keen understanding of the real estate market makes Pat ideally suited to advise clients on matters involving distressed real estate.

Additionally, he is listed in Ohio Super Lawyers 2027 as a Rising Star, recognized for his work in Bankruptcy law.

Experience

  • Represented Lutheran Life Communities and its affiliates in their chapter 11 cases.

  • Represented creditors in numerous chapter 11 proceedings including in asserting claims against debtors’ estates, disputes regarding assumption and/or rejection of executory contracts and avoidance actions.

  • Represented distressed companies in out-of-court restructurings.

  • Successfully argued a Sixth Circuit appeal related to complex second amendment and sentencing enhancement issues, achieving a unanimous, published decision reversing the lower court on the sentencing issue.
