Squire Patton Boggs has hired Bradley Harris as director in its Financial Services Practice Group in London. He joins the firm’s international Asset-Based Lending (ABL) team from ABN AMRO Bank where he was UK Head of Legal, Commercial Finance & Lease.
Welcoming Mr. Harris, European head of Banking Paula Laird, said, “We are delighted to have Bradley join us in London. He has an extensive track record of handling complex cross-border transactions in the ABL space and clients will value his direct banking experience and insight. He is a superb addition to our financial services and banking group in London; the group boasts depth, including structured finance and securitization with new global head Ranajoy Basu.”
“I’ve known and worked with the firm’s excellent ABL team for some years,” said Mr. Harris, “It’s one of the leading groups in this very specialist area. On top of that, Squire Patton Boggs has a broader financial services offering packed with talent and an impressive global footprint. I’m looking forward to being part of this dynamic group.”
Mr. Harris focuses on asset-based lending and commercial banking, with a more than a decade and half of both in-house and private practice legal experience. He joined ABN Amro in 2018 as senior legal counsel, overseeing its UK asset-based lending arm, ABN AMRO Commercial Finance (ACF), which offers asset-based lending and non-recourse off balance sheet facilities to its clients as well as government backed loan schemes. From 2024, as UK Head of Legal, Commercial Finance & Lease, Mr. Harris was responsible for three distinct bank products: ACF, ABN AMRO Lease (covering asset finance products) and the UK bank’s trade finance offering.
Prior to joining the bank, Mr. Harris was in the Banking and Finance team at Mayer Brown, where he represented major UK, European and US clearing banks as well as independent invoice discounters, borrowers and private equity funds on predominantly cross-border transactions in connection with the delivery of asset-based lending transactions, supply chain finance and off-balance sheet non-recourse receivables purchase programmes, as well as leverage finance and fund finance transactions. Mr. Harris qualified in 2010, and trained at DLA Piper, during which time he also spent a secondment to RBS Invoice Finance Limited's in-house legal department.
Squire Patton Boggs has a market leading ABL team which advises major financial institutions and corporates on asset finance transactions including operating leasing, receivables finance, ABL, sale of leasing/asset finance portfolios and securitisation. Mr. Harris’ hire is the latest in a series of senior appointments to the firm’s Financial Services Practice Group this year.
The Group has seen significant investment with specialist team hires through new partners Ranajoy Basu, Monica Gogna, and Philip Prowse in London, Cynthia Weiss in Washington DC and Gabriel Dabiri in New York.
